Here’s a neat article on Linux being utilized in 911 call centers.
Though the article itself is nice, the great stuff is in the discussion list. The authenticity of the officer is questioned and resolved. This kind of authentication and tightly-bound meta-information just isn’t possible in other mass media.

For those of you IT folks who work a gazillion hours every day, you
just may be entitled to overtime. Depends on what state you’re in

Man, this sounds cool. The highlight of the article: this puppy can
render 75 million polygons per second, while current 3D graphic cards
can only pump out upto 5 million polygons per sec.

In defense of myself, someone sent this to me, so it wasn’t like I was surfing aimlessly! Not to mention that I’m right now staring at a screen watching OS patches being installed rather slowly.
